What are the client requirements?
We offer two editions.
You can work from anywhere and on any device (PC, Mac, iPAD or other tablets) using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc. You don’t need to install a client on each user’s machine.
Native Client Edition
This option only works with Windows machines. You will need to install a client on each user’s machine.
What are the different licensing options?
We offer floating client licenses only. It is controlled by the number of concurrent users.
What are Visual Trace Spec’s license requirements? Is installation limited to a few computers?
Visual Trace Spec provides floating client licenses. You can install the application on an unlimited number of computers; however, the number of users that can access Visual Trace Spec concurrently (at the same time) is controlled by the number of floating licenses purchased.For example, if you purchase five floating licenses, you can install Visual Trace Spec on any number of computers – but, only five users may access the server simultaneously.
Are there any license keys required?
License keys are not required for each user. However, a license key is required for server installation.

How long does it take to deploy Visual Trace Spec in our environment?
Visual Trace Spec can be deployed very quickly for both local and globally dispersed teams. A typical deployment would be 5-30 minutes.
What are the system requirements for the server?
The Visual Trace Spec server can be used on any Windows machine, including Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016 server. A minimum of 1 GB of RAM is highly recommended.
Does Visual Trace Spec need a database?
No. Visual Trace Spec includes a Free enterprise database that is highly scalable to TBs of data.
Where does Visual Trace Spec’s database reside?
Visual Trace Spec is a high-performance multi-tier, multi-thread application. Visual Trace Spec is very easy to install and deploy for local and virtual teams. Visual Trace Spec’s server (with database) can be installed on your computers.
Where are documents stored?
In Visual Trace Spec, all artifacts, including data, documents, and models are stored in a central shared repository.
Can I automate the backup of my Visual Trace Spec files?
Yes. Please refer to the “Automatic Backup” topic in the Visual Trace Spec Server & DB Admin Manual.
What are the server maintenance requirements?
Visual Trace Spec is virtually maintenance free. Regularly backing up the database (which can be automated) is recommended.

What is Visual Trace Spec ‘s upgrade policy?
Upgrades are free for the SaaS solution (Browser Edition that we host).
Each Visual Trace Spec licensed copy includes one-year free upgrades and support. After the first year, upgrades and support may be purchased for an additional fee equal to 20% of the total cost of Visual Trace Spec.

How long will it take to process an order?
